For 2023, the Mercedes-Benz GLE models are as appealing as ever to all those looking for a deluxe midsize SUV. With an exterior featuring a number of esthetic enhancements, the GLE series once again offers a wide range of possibilities. Notably, there are two different body styles and four different powertrains available. Regardless of which one you choose, you can expect it to meet exemplary standards in terms of safety, assembly, driving pleasure and interior workmanship.
The 2023 Mercedes-Benz GLE: superior-quality 4MATIC AWD
The GLE SUVs, all of which feature all-wheel drive and come standard with a nine-speed automatic transmission, stand out for the strength, power, efficiency and comfort they offer.
Equipped with a 2.0 L inline-four turbo engine, the 350 4MATIC version can produce 255 hp, while consuming less than 9 liters of gasoline per 100 kilometers. In the coupe and regular versions, the 450 4MATIC GLE avails of an electrically optimized (21 hp/16 kW) supercharged inline-six turbo engine. The combined power is 362 hp (with 369 lbf·ft of torque), while the vehicle’s average overall fuel economy sits just barely above 10 L per 100 kilometers. It’s worth mentioning that the famous E-ACTIVE BODY CONTROL suspension system is optionally available on the 450 4MATIC model. This technology can control the damping level of the springs and shocks, as well as the height of each wheel, independently.
The 2023 Mercedes-Benz GLE SUVs can even satisfy drivers seeking high performance vehicles, thanks to the AMG 53 4MATIC+ and the AMG 63 4MATIC+ models, both of which are available in regular and coupe versions. The former features a mild hybrid 3.0 L inline-six turbo engine producing 429 horsepower. Meanwhile, the latter comes with a 4.0 L V8 (turbo + electric) engine unleashing 603 horsepower and a whopping 627 pound-feet of torque, taking the vehicle from 0 to 100 km/h in only 4 seconds.
Luxury and technology: the order of the day
The 2023 Mercedes-Benz GLE offers all of the currently popular driver assist and safety features. These are joined by a number of proprietary Mercedes options, including massaging seats, heated armrests, soft-close doors, a cabin air purification/ionization and fragrance system, an augmented reality navigation system, a superb multimedia/touchscreen interface (MBUX) and more!
