The all-new 2019 Mercedes-Benz A-Class has finally arrived on the market after being introduced last year. With the new A-Class, we are entitled to a practical luxury car offered at a price that will not break the bank.
Starting at $35,990 for the hatchback and $34,990 for the sedan with the option of adding 4Matic AWD in both models, the A-Class offers the luxury and sophistication expected from a Mercedes-Benz product, but at a price that’s more than accessible.
Powerful engines and advanced technologies.
Several engines are offered in the new 2019 Mercedes-Benz A-Class. Both the sedan and the hatchback version are powered by a four-cylinder turbocharged 2.0-litre, but their power level is not the same. With the A-Class hatchback, the engine in question develops 221 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque and is paired with a 7-speed automatic transmission. This same engine is available in the Mercedes-Benz A-Class sedan, but it develops 188 horsepower and 221 lb-ft of coupe. This allows the new 2019 Mercedes-Benz A-Class sedan to reach 100 km/h in 7.7 seconds while the hatchback version reaches the same speed in 6.6 seconds.
Eventually the new A-Class will be available in AMG versions with more than 300 horsepower, but for now the only option is 4Matic AWD or FWD. The difference between the two is minimal as the 4Matic AWD option adds $2,000 to the sedan and hatchback bill.
